I’ve been loving all of the pops of color I’m seeing on women all over Paris, no doubt influenced by the candy brights from the ss ‘11 collections. It’s amazing to see how many ways a person can interpret the trend (a neon belt on an otherwise dark, monochromatic outfit here, a full-on head to toe color blocky look there.) I’ve even succumbed to it, finally getting in on Prada’s neon colored stripes (the store is right around the corner from my hotel. So I took it as a sign!) Natuka Karkashadze’s totally fun color combination, spotted by Streetpeeper’s Phil Oh, is in the spirit of collections like Jil Sander and Christopher Kane, only the top and trousers are of her own design. Very cool. And a great example of how this trend isn’t about the designer you’re wearing, but rather how you style what you’ve got. Meanwhile, the red and green in Taylor Tomasi Hill’s gorgeous Givenchy top doesn’t necessarily scream spring, but they grab the eye, and pretty much hold on to it, nonetheless.
