We’ve all grown accustomed to the sight of cropped trousers with bright or printed socks as a trendy “pop” of color. But short pants with dark socks always seemed like a slightly harder sell, in a literal, retro kind of way — the stuff of rockabilly types and goths, for example. But judging by the images Giia has been taking for us lately, the Milanese, seem to be taking this idea to an interesting place.

Black lace seems to be the more demure way to interpret the fetish trend that’s been percolating this fall. It’s a little naughty, and yet totally chic. But it’s interesting to see how all three ladies styled their noire lacey looks with ankle straps, which is what really kicks the concept into erotica territory.
